Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin’s baby daughter Charlotte makes her TV debut

What a cutie!

Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin returned to the ITV studio today to introduce her adorable new daughter to her colleagues.

The weather forecaster told Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins that she loves being a mum but she didn’t realise how hard it would be.

She said: “We’re good and enjoying it but I mean, no one tells you how hard it is to be a parent. It’s really difficult. But we are lucky she basically sleeps through the night – but she doesn’t sleep in the day that much.”

Laura welcomed Charlotte with husband Dean Brown much earlier than expected last summer, as their little girl was three months premature.

Speaking about the shock arrival, Laura recalled: “I came into work and thought I didn’t feel well, I felt a little bit achy, tired and hot so make-up called Dr Hillary and he said, ‘I think baby wants to come today’.”

She added: “She was three months early so it was a huge shock, we had nothing ready but it didn’t matter as she spent her first few months in hospital in an incubator.”

Charlotte weighed just two and a half pounds at birth and her worried mum said they were lucky she “didn’t have any major complications.”

She was eventually able to go home months later without needing oxygen and has since been putting on weight and thriving.

“It’s amazing where we are now, she is so wonderful and I love her so much,” Laura, 36, gushed.

She added they have to be extra careful with her though as premature babies are “really susceptible to coughs and colds.”

As her colleagues cooed over how cute Charlotte is, Susanna told Laura: “You have done so well as I know it has been stressful. It is tough for any new mum but you have had a lot of extra stress.”

Laura had previously called into the show last October to let her colleagues know how she was getting on and shared a picture of her newborn.

She was delighted to be able to introduce Charlotte to them in person today, and the little girl was an impeccable TV star, only crying for a very short time as her mum took her seat, and then quickly settling to take it all in.

Laura thanked Susanna, Kate and Charlotte, plus all the viewers at home, for their support and well-wishes.

She also praised the hospital staff and charities who have helped them since Charlotte’s premature birth.

She added that she will be back in the GMB studio more often very soon, as she plans to return to work in two months time.

Congratulations again Laura!
