GMB fans beg for Piers Morgan to return as his new replacement begins

The show's found someone even more opinionated and objectionable

| Updated:

Jeremy Kyle made a comeback to Good Morning Britain today as he stands in for Piers Morgan over the next three weeks.

But it seems the presenter, 52, wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea after viewers branded him too “loud” and “annoying” for so early in the morning.

Many loyal viewers were calling for Piers, 52, to return to the GMB sofa as soon as possible.

Jeremy, who is known for being controversial on his own talk show The Jeremy Kyle Show, hosted Monday morning’s show alongside the show’s regulars Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins.

Getting stuck into presenting duties a confident Jeremy opened the show saying: “So good morning it’s just gone 6 o’clock, I’m back!

“14 months and we’re back.”

Throughout the show there was not a lie detector in sight but Jezza still shared his opinionated views as they discussed this week’s hot topics.

But some fans weren’t warming to the new host.

One wrote on Twitter: “#gmb please get rid of Kyle. Or it’ll be death of @GMB.”

“Jeremy Kyle doesn’t suit presenting on Good Morning Britain, so annoying. Stick to your own show #gmb #goodmorningbritain,” another added.

A third tweeted: “Jeremy Kyle is the same on #gmb as he is on #jeremykyle loud and sodding annoying.”

Others were desperate to get Piers back – something we don’t usually see.

One said: “Bring Piers Morgan back to #GMB.”

“Come back Piers Morgan! All is forgiven! (Okay, most of it). #GoodMorningBritain #GMB,” one wrote.

Another agreed: “I’m looking forward to seeing Piers & Susanna back, this is cringe TV at the mo #GMB.”

It was revealed last month that Jeremy would be just one of the many hosts who will be taking over the show.

Speaking about his stint Jeremy said: “I’m really looking forward to being back on GMB this August to wake the nation up over the summer holidays.

“Now all I need to do is find my alarm clock!”

Jezza will co-host the show with Kate Garraway from Monday to Wednesdays.

Jeremy is no stranger to presenting the show. The star guest presented the show last year over the Easter holidays.

This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes hosted the show at the beginning of last week with Charlotte before Ben Shephard and co-star Kate presented near the end of the week.

It’s believed that Richard Madeley, 61, will also present the show later on in August.

Speaking about hosting GMB for the first time Richard said: “I’ve known Piers for 30 years so sitting in for him on GMB is an excellent opportunity to gather some inside information on him which I will unhesitatingly use to wind him up afterwards.

“Seriously though, I’m looking forward to it immensely and after all those years on This Morning the early starts will seem like old times.”

The show’s favourites Susanna, 46, and Piers will return to the show in September.
