Furious Strictly viewers dispute judges’ scores for Debbie McGee

They weren't happy with how she fared alongside Aston

| Updated:

They certainly saved the best till last on Strictly tonight as penultimate performer Debbie McGee and show closer Aston Merrigold both delivered barn-storming routines.

But viewers weren’t happy when the scores came in. Debbie and her partner were awarded 39 points (Craig gave out the ‘9’).

This was despite the judges pointing out there had been some error with lifts.

In contrast, Aston delivered a seamless routine – but he and pro partner Jeanette only received a score of 38.

One point only, but the difference between topping the leader board and not.

Some fans felt this was grossly unfair…

That wasn’t the only drama to come out of tonight’s show though – oh no, Shirley Ballas was bringing all the tweets to the yard…

There were some chuckles from fans at home she delivered her verdict on Alexandra Burke’s performance – and no sound came out.

Okay, maybe a muffle.

Poor Shirl’s microphone failed, making her comments inaudible. (Shame as, judging by her smile, she was actually saying nice stuff.)

Anyway, some viewers were delighted that she’d effectively been silenced, and couldn’t wait to have a pop on Twitter…

And it got better… Shirley was passed a hand-held mic as an emergency measure – and that didn’t work either.

Live TV, folks, you gotta love it!
