Former Strictly Come Dancing star headed to I’m A Celebrity…

He's a reality TV veteran now

The jungle drums are beating, and it’s almost time for Ant – hopefully – and Dec to head Down Under for this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

Speculation about which celebs are likely to be taking part has been simmering for a while – although that’s mostly agents and journalists stirring things up.

With just a few weeks before kick-off, now is the time to take seriously names in the frame.

And first to be strongly tipped to hit up Australia is Ben Cohen – former rugby player and Strictly Come Dancing and The Jump contestant.

A source told Mirror Online: “Ben is determined to be his best in the jungle as work has dried up for him in recent years – he has gone vegan and been working out lots.”

“He is hinting to pals about a project Down Under – and teasing his family about the jungle.”

And there’s good news for Ant and Dec fans! Scarlett Moffatt has confirmed Ant’s on the mend and will be heading into the Australian jungle for this year’s I’m A Celeb.

Ant’s getting used to life again after spending two months in rehab to tackle an addiction to prescription painkillers.

And at first it wasn’t certain he’d be well enough to travel to Australia to present the show.

But speaking to The Sun Online at the Pride of Britain awards last night, Scarlett confirmed Ant would be heading to the jungle alongside her and Dec.

“I’m so excited to be back with Ant and Dec,” Scarlett said. “I was texting Dec yesterday about it. I’ve been packed for three weeks. It’s not long now.”

And she added: “The intention is [that Ant will be there]. We’ve spoken, yeah, he’s doing well.”

Production on the popular reality show has been pushed back for three weeks to give Ant time to recover before heading Down Under.

Dec had said he would never present the show without his buddy by his side.

The first star rumoured to be joining the jungle crew this year is former rugby star Ben Cohen.

Ben has been hinting to friends that he’s got an upcoming project in Australia.

He’s no stranger to reality TV, having appeared on Strictly – where he met his partner Kristina Rihanoff – and also taking part in The Jump.

Ben and Kristina met on Strictly in 2013 but they say they didn’t get together until Ben split from his wife Abby in 2014. Kristina gave birth to the couple’s daughter Milena last year. And it’s even rumoured the new family might be starring in their own reality show soon.
