Former Hollyoaks star Nathalie Emmanuel – now in GOT – defends soap actors

Don't mess with Nathalie!

Game Of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel has leapt to the defence of soap actors.

The former Hollyoaks star is fed up of people slating her fellow soap cast members – and has made it clear NOT to “slag them off” in her presence.

You have been warned – and we hear she’s mates with a dragon!

Nathalie starred as good-natured Sasha Valentine in Hollyoaks for three years, between 2007 and 2010.

And the 29-year-old Essex-born actress has done Britain proud ever since…

She’s now one of the longest-serving cast members in Game Of Thrones. Yes, she has survived seven series of the epic HBO drama – a feat in itself in a show where characters drop like flies!

Her character Missandei is Daenerys Targaryen’s interpreter and handmaiden, in the hugely popular historical drama.

And now Nathalie has slammed anyone who criticises soap actors.

In an interview with Metro.co.uk, Nathalie – who has also bagged roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, said: “I won’t have anyone slag off soap actors, not on my watch.”

She added: “Everyone talked down about Hollyoaks, especially within casting – there’s a stigma that actors aren’t very good or they’re just hired for their appearance, and that gives you a fire to prove something.”

The actress went on to say that starring in a soap is great training, saying: “People don’t realise it’s full time, you shoot every day all day, and the turnaround is so quick.

“The amount they shoot is huge, and sometimes they just change the schedule and so you have to have a certain level of being able to just adapt and that is such a skill.”

She’s got a point. Ricky Whittle, her on-screen brother in Hollyoaks, is currently starring as the lead character, Shadow Moon, in American Gods.

While EastEnders’ Ben Hardy starred in superhero blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse.

Hollyoak’s Rachel Shenton recently won an Oscar for her short film The Silent Child.

We don’t need any more convincing!
