First look at EastEnders star in Holby City

The actress has been in EastEnders since 2006

EastEnders’ Libby Fox has swapped her studies for scrubs as actress Belinda Owusu has joined Holby City.

The actress played Denise Fox’s daughter Libby off and on since 2006 but now she has joined the BBC medical drama full-time as new F1 Nicky McKendrick.

The first look at Nicky has been revealed in the winter trailer for the hospital drama.

Nicky isn’t alone as she joins the department alongside her best friend from medical school Meena Chowdhury.

Doctors actress Salma Haque plays Meena and it looks like the pair will find themselves in hot water almost immediately.

In the trailer Meena is caught short in an out of order loo, while Nicky finds herself handcuffed to the bed of another doctor.

Show boss Kate Hall previously said: “Friends from medical school, Nick and Meena will have their work cut out as Holby’s fresh F1’s.

“Thrown into a fiercely rivalrous, fast-paced surgical world, they will need to go all out to impress senior-ranking consultants and as the young doctors fight to survive, their friendship will be sorely tested.”

While Belinda is starring in Holby City, it seems unlikely that Libby will make one of her visits to her mum and family in Albert Square.

But with disaster ready to strike Walford at Christmas, could Libby return for one more visit to see her struggling mum Denise?
