Emmerdale viewers pounce on blunder in Joseph Tate’s latest dirty dealings

How did he DO THAT?

Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads during last night’s dramatic episode as Joseph Tate (Ned Porteous) had a seemingly miraculous recovery and clean up after falling into a hole.

Joe had ended up in a trap set by the Dingles, while he tried to flee from masked gunman, Sam Dingle.

One moment he was scrambling around in the hole with his barnet all flat and face caked in mud, the next he was back at Home Farm with his saviour (or not) Ross Barton, and his trademark quiff back in place.

And then Clean Joe was then seen springing in to action to attack Sam at the Woolpack, all cleaned up and minus the limp he’d been sporting just minutes earlier.

His limp returned after that, but fans were left questioning how he’d managed to sort himself out so fast en route to the pub.

“How did Joe go in the hole with flat hair & come out with his ‘Elvis’ quiff all coifer’d ???” wondered one confused viewer, while another asked: “How did he manage to blow dry his hair, whilst stuck down a hole?”

Another wondered if there was an underground hairdresser, pointing out: “Joe Tate falls in hole with FLAT hair, comes out with perfect combed hair #UndergroundHairDresser.”

While Joe’s hair seemed to be the major talking point of last night’s episode, the man himself was ‘befriended’ by Ross, not knowing he was in on the Dingles’ scam to pay him back for how he’s treated the family since his arrival in the village.

It was no coincidence that Ross happened to find Joe in the pit and help him out as he was recruited by Cain, who wanted someone with no obvious loyalty to the Dingles to act as a Home Farm mole for him.

Joe destroyed Zak and Lisa’s Wishing Well Cottage last week, almost killing Noah and Samson who were playing inside at the time.

He also humiliated Debbie by posing as Tom Waterhouse and lavishing her with expensive gifts and even a house before taking it all away again.

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV
