Debbie Dingle was in the wrong place at the wrong time last night – and she might end up paying with her life.
Emmerdale fans were left in shock when the character, played by Charley Webb, was shot in the stomach in dramatic scenes shown on Thursday (24 May).
Some fans predict the soap favourite will die, and many more think Debbie deserved the bullet after being responsible for Ross Barton’s acid attack in the first place!

When Ross discovered that Joe Tate had bribed Simon McManus, he immediately jumped to the conclusion that Joe was behind his acid attack.
But we all know Joe is protecting Debbie, who really orchestrated the vile act.
Armed with a gun and a tonne of fury, Ross stormed to Home Farm looking for answers.
But it was Debbie who got caught in the firing line during the tense hostage situation.

As Joe desperately fought to get the gun from a vengeful Ross, it went off in the struggle and the two men looked on in horror at what had happened.
Both men have romantic feelings for Debbie, so the horrific accident had even more meaning.
As Debbie lay fighting for her life, soap fans gathered on Twitter to share their thoughts…
One wasn’t at all sympathetic, writing: “Honestly, wouldn’t be upset if Debbie died, so long as Ross somehow finds out the truth.”
Another agreed, saying: “Is it too much to hope Debbie’s a goner?”
