Emmerdale viewers blast “creepy” storyline

Fans didn't find it any easy watch

Emmerdale fans felt sick to their stomachs tonight when Lawrence White invited Robert to talk business – in a hotel room.

Robert has been playing a very dirty game, trying to get his hands on Home Farm.

He’s been pretending to be in love with Lawrence and even staged it so Lawrence thought they’d slept together when he was too drunk to remember.

And as Robert really made sure he got his way, by pretending he was planning to leave the village, the plan spectacularly backfired when Lawrence invited him to a business meeting.

Believing it to be a genuine business meeting, Robert only realised something was amiss when he met Lawrence in a hotel room, saw a big double bed and realised there was no one else coming.

As Lawrence served him afternoon tea and cake, he told Robert: “You deserve to have whatever you want.”

He continued: “You want me and I want you, and I’m finally ready to do what I need to do to make it happen.”

Robert’s face was an absolute picture as Lawrence put his hand on his arm and promised he would do whatever it took.

Rob tried to tell him they couldn’t be together because Robert had got Lawrence’s daughter Rebecca pregnant and was once married to his other daughter Chrissie.

“It’ll be tough and it’ll take them some time to come around, but it’ll be worth all the trouble won’t it?” he asked Robert, who could only mutter “Yeah” in response.

Robert desperately tried to squirm his way out of it, but Lawrence said: “Last time, our first time, I was too drunk to remember it. This time I want to be sober, I want to remember everything.”

Viewers were not impressed with the storyline and called for the soap to stop it immediately.

Just how far is Robert prepared to go to get his hands on Home Farm?

And can anything get him out of this situation?

Rebecca is currently in labour with Rob’s baby – could a convenient call be his get-out clause?
