Emmerdale actress Scarlett Archer, who played Nell Fairfax on the show until recently, has spoken out on Twitter after being sexually harassed on the tube.

She revealed she’d been travelling when a man made her cry with his inappropriate behaviour.

Writing on the social media site, she said: “To the guy who just sexually harassed me on the tube – I hate you.

“I hate you SO much but I didn’t have the guts to say anything. I just took it. Then cried. Like too many women. I’m glad we’re getting angry.”

The actress then went on to say she knew it wasn’t “a gender thing and plenty of men have to go through this too. It’s heartbreaking because all down to respecting your fellow humans.”

Her fans rushed to offer her support after the incident.

“What an incredibly vile thing to do to a woman. Please don’t think we’re all like that Scarlett we’re not. Stay safe and chin up,” said one.

Another added: “Well done Scarlet for speaking up about what happened to you on the tube but you should go to the police they have cameras on all tube trains they will get him but you have to let them know before he does it again.”

“How awful!! We shouldn’t have to put up with this!! Hope you’re ok,” said a third.

The British Transport Police also responded and told her they “take these incidents very seriously.”

Scarlett left Emmerdale in September after being caught out trying to manipulate boyfriend Jai Sharma and using his grief over Holly Barton to make him fall for her.

She explained to Jai that she just wanted to be loved, but as he urged her to get help, we saw her target another grieving family and pretend to be someone else.

Since then some fans have called for her to make a return.
