Emmerdale star and all-round queen, Natalie J Robb, has promised fans of the ITV soap that Moira Barton’s troubles are only just beginning, following her murderous confession during last night’s episodes.

Speaking on This Morning, Natalie said that her character will consider turning to drugs to help fend off the guilt she feels over killing her arch-nemesis, Emma Barton.

She told Phil and Holly: “Most of it is the guilt, but she has got a bit of the baby blues. It’s the guilt she can’t deal with.”

Emmerdale fans have already seen a desperate Moira charge up her dead daughter Holly’s phone and contact the drug dealer who provided Holly with heroin.

Natalie continued: “She goes back to Holly’s dealer, but sleep deprivation, it’s the one thing that’s the worst thing in the world.

“It’s a moment of madness and she needs something to help her sleep – she’s not trying to kill herself.”

She then promised there are a lot more twists and turns to come for her character, adding that 2018 is going to be a very harrowing year for Moira.

But Natalie has quelled any fears that her killer confession means her time in the soap could be up soon.

She said: “I did worry that being the killer might end my time at Emmerdale

“However, they told me from the start that would not be the case and I have just signed a new contract, so you have another year of me yet.”

The actress, who scooped the Sexiest Female gong at the Inside Soap awards earlier this year, went on to point out that Robert Sugden has killed, but he is still very much a part of Emmerdale.

Natalie also revealed that Emmerdale bosses had filmed three different endings, with Emma’s sons Ross and Pete also killing her, meaning that no one really knew who did it until the last moment.

She explained: “They shot one ending where it was Pete Barton, another where it was Ross and then me.

“They did it to stop leaks, so none of us really knew how it would pan out.”
