Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden reveals latest baby news on Loose Women

"I'd have a football team!"

Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden is a busy man. Not only does he have a packed schedule filming as David Metcalfe in the ITV soap, but he also has a busy home life as well.

The ITV star appeared on Loose Women this afternoon to talk all about how married life is treating him, just six weeks after his surprise wedding to long-term girlfriend Charley Webb.

The pair, who have two boys, Buster and Bowie, got married last month in a wedding that was so top-secret that even the guests thought they were attending Charley’s 30th birthday celebrations.

But life is set to get even busier because Matthew has revealed he would love a big family. He told the Loose Women panel: “We’d love another baby. I’d have a football team, but it’s not me who has to go through with the pregnancy!

“We aren’t trying at the moment but would love baby number three.”

The actor also opened up about his wedding to Charley revealing that they only asked the bridesmaids, ushers and best man when they arrived at the venue.

In fact the wedding as so cloak and dagger that the pair of them haven’t even had their hen and stag weekends yet.

“Charlie is going off for her hen do soon. Her girlfriends have organised it and she doesn’t know where she’s going. Then I’ll have my stag.”

Matthew also joked about the pressures of raising kids, laughing about a question that his eldest son, Buster asked recently… “He’s eight, and came and started talking to Charley and I about sex. He’s obviously heard something in the playground.

“But when we asked what he knew, he replied ‘I do know but I’m not saying because it’s embarrassing!'”

The couple face a huge juggling act with them both filming at Emmerdale as well as raising their boys – and Matthew even joked that he struggles to keep up with his own storylines sometimes…

“We film completely out of order, and in two week blocks – it’s so confusing, especially in heavy storylines. sometimes you don’t know where you’re going or where you’re coming from.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
