Laurel Thomas edges closer to exposing Emmerdale’s Emma Barton as Ross overhears secrets

It's about time someone else did

Emmerdale’s Emma Barton is so close to being exposed as Laurel Thomas continues to pile the pressure on.

And when Ross overhears them talking, will he realise the truth of the situation?

Convinced that Emma is not who she claims to be, Laurel is on a mission to prove it. Emma did herself no favours dragging little Arthur Thomas into her cover up and smashing his video footage of dad Ashley as it incriminated her.

She underestimated just how much faith Laurel would have in her son, thinking Mrs Thomas was more likely to believe a God-fearing adult over a nine-year-old boy.

But Laurel’s no fool and worked out Emma was involved in James’s death. Laurel’s been out to expose Emma ever since, but her attempts to shame the murderess publicly haven’t worked.

So Laurel’s new tactic is to pull back and pretend she’s dropping her vendetta.

She visits Emma to apologise for the very public slanging match they ended up in the previous week.

Emma is wary, unsure about Laurel’s sudden change of heart, and sure enough Laurel soon turns on the guilt trip about what happened to James.

“There’s no quicker way to turn God-fearing Emma into a total mess than to insinuate that the Almighty won’t forgive her,” an Emmerdale insider told Inside Soap.

“She begins to buckle under the pressure, and it’s clear that Laurel is close to breaking her.”

But unbeknown to both women, Ross is listening in on the conversation and is very confused about why his mother’s feeling guilty, and piecing together what really happened to his dad on that fateful night.

“He can’t believe what he’s hearing!” shared the source.

Just how much has Ross managed to work out? Will he confront his mum? And is she in danger now the most volatile of her sons knows she’s not all she’s making herself out to be?

We wouldn’t like to be in Emma’s shoes now…

Time is running out for her and it won’t be long before everyone knows exactly what she’s capable of. Thank goodness for that.
