Emmerdale fans were left furious, heartbroken and shocked after Lachlan White killed Dales favourite Gerry Roberts in dramatic scenes last night (Thursday 17 May).
Gerry’s fate was sealed when he discovered that Lachlan was responsible for the deaths of his own mum and grandad in a car accident.
After orchestrating the murder of his own best friend to look like an accidental death, Lachlan looks set to walk free around the village – with his neighbours totally unaware they have a serial killer in their midst.
Now fans have been wondering if Lachlan will kill again – and if he is capable of targeting his own girlfriend Belle Dingle…

Actor Thomas Atkinson, who plays the twisted killer, has provided some clues as to Lachlan’s next moves. And it doesn’t look good!
Asked by Mirror.co.uk if he thinks Lachlan will be leaving the soap soon – i.e. caught and thrown in jail – Thomas said: “I don’t think so. He’s already killed his mum and his granddad and that was five months ago, so it’s just adding one more to the list, isn’t it?”
Describing Lachlan as a “complete psychopath”, he did have some reassuring news however, saying Belle Dingle was safe from Lachlan’s murderous intentions.
“No, not a chance!” he responded, when asked if Lachlan could kill Belle. “The entire reason he’s killed those people is for Belle. So he’s not going to kill Belle, is he?”

Lachlan killed Gerry by luring him to the structurally unsafe B&B and asking him to retrieve a barrel from the sealed-off area – making sure that his former cellmate suffered as the floor caved in and fell on top of him.
Although Gerry survived the fall, Lachlan finished him off by dropping a huge boulder on his head.
Asked if Lachlan might kill again, Thomas responded: “He’s killed three people, I’d say that’s pretty dangerous.”
