Emmerdale’s Adam and Victoria Barton edge towards reconciliation in upcoming episodes

They split up after she found out he kissed Vanessa

It’s the reunion we all want to happen: Emmerdale’s Adam and Victoria Barton grow one step closer to sorting things out next week.

They couple haven’t been together since May when Vic found out her husband had snogged Vanessa behind her back.

Despite Adam begging and begging and begging her for another chance, explaining his head was all over the place following the discovery that he’s infertile, Victoria has so far remained firm that she just can’t keep being hurt by him.

We’ve all been mourning the break-up almost as much as Adam, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel when Victoria admits she still loves him.

Having a heart-to-heart with stepmother Diane Sugden, Vic admits she’s not over him at all. Yay!

But we shouldn’t rush out and start celebrating just yet because she’s also quick to add that it doesn’t matter how she feels because there’s no way she can forgive him.

Honestly, Emmerdale, talk about messing with our emotions.

But is this a hint of things to come? If she really can’t get over him, surely the only solution is to find a way to forgive him and move forward with their relationship? It was only a kiss, after all (although he had cheated on her with Vanessa before, but let’s brush over that one!).

However, even if they do get back together, it’s certain it won’t be a happy ever after for the pair because Adam Thomas, who plays Adam, is leaving the soap early next year.

So if Adam and Victoria do reunite, it’s likely to end in heartbreak for Victoria one way or another – either he’ll leave her or – sob – he’ll die.

Adam announced his decision to quit the soap in June revealing to the ITV website: “I’ve had an amazing eight years working on Emmerdale and I’ve loved every minute of it.

“It was a really tough decision to take leave, but I felt that now is the time to move on and challenge myself with some new roles.”

His first role after his departure has already been revealed: he’ll be starring in pantomine alongside Denise Welch in Newcastle this Christmas.

At the moment on screen, Adam is involved with Aaron Dingle’s storyline. He’s just discovered his best mate had taken up boxing as an outlet for his anger issues. Will Adam start to train with him?
