Emmerdale fans in tears as former character appears on screen

Viewers miss them

Emmerdale pulled at the heartstrings tonight when Val Pollard made a brief reappearance as Eric watched the video she made for him.

Fans were in floods of tears as they saw her and remembered all over again how much they missed her.

Eric, who has been tentatively thinking of a new romance with Faith, was left reeling earlier in the episode when his old friend took him for a round of golf.

Instead of being asked to run for mayor again, as Eric had assumed would be the case, the fella told him they were planning to build a new golf course.

And then he dropped the bombshell that the access road to it would run right through Eric’s house.

As Pollard looked distraught, remembering all the memories he made there with Val, he was stunned to be told that £10,000 could make the road move to the left and he wouldn’t have to worry.

At first Eric refused to give him the “bung” but when he went home and watched the video of Valerie singing again, he decided he couldn’t let anything happen to the home they shared together.

Elsewhere, we saw another flashback to the day of Emma Barton’s murder.

After Adam confirmed to Ross the police had evidence that she was pushed, Pete began to get suspicious of his brother.

Despite the fact Ross protested his innocence and swore he had no idea his mum had killed his dad before she died, we saw that he was lying and in fact he was the one who found and read her suicide note in the church.

Did Ross kill Emma?
