Emmerdale fans fear for Moira as she abandons her baby

Is she suffering from post-natal depression?

Emmerdale fans flocked to Twitter to express their concern for Moira Barton after she abandoned her newborn baby at the hospital in tonight’s episode.

Moira, who gave birth to her surprise baby two weeks ago, was concerned that something was  seriously wrong with the tot when he wouldn’t stop crying.

Despite the doctor telling Moira that he was only suffering from colic – a common condition in infants that seemingly has no cause but makes them cry for hours – she raced to Hotten General and demanded he was seen.

A nurse reassured Moira that the baby was fine, but viewers knew something was wrong with Moira when she appeared back at the farm and calmly told Faith that she’d left her son at the hospital.

Faith asked Moira several times if the baby was sleeping before Moira admitted that she wouldn’t know as he was still at the hospital.

Faith raced the new mum back to the hospital and managed to make up a cover story about Moira falling asleep in the car. She even gave the baby a name – Isaac – something which Moira had failed to do.

Fans are now worried that Moira could be suffering from post-natal depression after seeming so unemotional when relaying what she’d done to Faith.

She later broke down to her former MIL, confessing she blamed herself for Holly’s death and couldn’t bear the thought of ruining another child’s life.

Viewers were moved by her plight…

Moira gave birth during a tense showdown with Emma Barton, before the killer was pushed to her death.

Initially Moira claimed the father of the baby was Pete, but it was later revealed that she’d only said that to stop Emma from leaving her to die in a fire.

Following a paternity test, Cain Dingle was named as the baby’s dad.
