Emmerdale fans are NOT liking the new vicar Reece

Bring back Harriet!

Well the Emmerdale fandom have spoken out on their feelings about new vicar, Reece, and the feedback isn’t so good.

Reece made his debut last night, introduced as Bishop Barry’s nephew who’ll be taking over from Harriet Finch.

Viewers know that poor Harriet risked her dog collar over her love for Dales bad boy, Cain Dingle.

But things didn’t work out particularly well there, what with Cain still being in love with his estranged wife who gave birth to his baby and all that.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Harriet – egged on by Charity Dingle – accidentally put a brick through the vicar’s car window while she was aiming for Cain’s.

All in in Bishop Barry isn’t Harriet’s number one fan at the moment, so her pleas for him to reinstate her fell on very deaf ears.

In fact, it turned out he’s already found a replacement for her.

Enter Reece. To the horror of the viewers.

“Eugh that Reece vicar and the bishop are so patronising and judgemental, wish they wud both do one! #Emmerdale,” said one unimpressed fan.

“Reece seems as much fun as a poke in the eye,” added another.

A third said: “The new vicar ain’t no Harriet is he..”

And a fourth quipped: “Dont like the new vicar. Dont trust him at all. Something dodgy about him.”

Other viewers compared the village newcomer to Danny Dyer, while some were very upset by Reece’s comments about Ashley Thomas’ stained glass window memorial.

There were a lot of words we can’t publish on a family website used to describe him too!

With all this in mind, the village’s Give Harriet Her Job Back campaign had better be a success!
