EastEnders viewers have had enough of the latest Max Branning twist

It's getting boring now

As fans of EastEnders we’ve frankly been getting bored with Max Branning’s revenge plot pretty much since it began.

But now fans have lashed out at the latest twist that saw Jane Beale awake from her coma and fail to tell the police – or Ian – the truth about what Max is up to.

We have one question: Why?

It’s taken long enough to get to this point, after she woke up last week and finally spoke to the police in Monday night’s episode.

But after Max threatened her to keep quiet and blame the whole thing on Steven, Jane did as she was told and covered for Max.

At first she tried to stand up to Max and told him she had Steven’s phone and all the evidence she needed to prove it was Max was on there.

However it turned out the phone wasn’t there and Max’s threats were starting to become a very real possibility.

He then grabbed Jane’s hand very hard, squeezing it, insisting she was going to tell the police Steven started the fire and then she was going to leave Walford for good.

“You do that and we’re even, but if you don’t Jane, I’m going to see to it that you and everyone that you love suffers.”

“I don’t believe you,” she said as she tried to stand up to him, but he ended up only gripping her hand harder saying:

“You want to cross me? Look at what happened to Steven.”

It was obviously enough to scare Jane into lying to the police – and a horrified Ian – about what had really happened.

But fans are pretty much fed up with the storyline and no one can quite understand why Jane just isn’t telling the truth and putting an end to Max’s boring revenge plot.

But as it stands, Jane has told the lie Max wanted her to and seems to be complying with everything by agreeing to leave Walford as he requested.

She told husband Ian too many bad things had happened there and she was never going home.

Even though he tried to talk her out of it, Ian soon realised her mind was made up and said they’d leave Walford for good.

Will they really go? Or will Jane realise she needs to stand up to Max and put an end to his scheming once and for all?

For her sake, and the viewers sanity, we hope it’s the latter.
