EastEnders’ Tamzin Outhwaite shares passionate post on social media about life as a single mum

Long hours on EastEnders are taking their toll...

EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite has poured her heart out to her Instagram followers about the struggles of being a working mum.

Juggling life as a single mum with working long hours is never going to be easy – and it seems the demands of filming at EastEnders are starting to take its toll on the comeback star, after she told her followers that her kids have ‘begged’ her to out down her scripts and devote more time to them.

Since returning to Albert Square at the start of the year as Mel Owen, Tamzin has been subjected to the gruelling filming schedule that comes with being on one of the country’s biggest shows.

But while she is clearly loving being back in her old stomping ground, that doesn’t mean she isn’t finding it hard with two daughters at home who need looking after.

Tamzin has two children, Florence and Marnie, who she shares with her ex husband Tom Ellis. The couple divorced back in 2014.

In a brilliantly honest post, the actress shared an image saying: “Parenting is f****** hard.”

Alongside the to-the-point post, she told her fans: “This week has been one of the longest, hardest, most brain frying weeks of work I have ever done.

“About to spend the weekend with my girls, and I know how fortunate and blessed I am to have them…

“But need to dig deep to find the energy needed to satisfy their hunger for their mama’s undivided attention all weekend.

(Last night they begged me to put my scripts down for one night).”

Tamzin ended her post with a hashtag: “hats off to single parents everywhere.”

But Tamzin’s post revealed that of course she isn’t alone. Fans flocked to share their own partnering woes with the star – while others told her that she was a great mum and doing a brilliant job.

Despite the pressure Tamzin’s heavy filming schedules are putting on her home life, her time on the Walford-based soap is going from strength-to-strength and fans are loving her being back on their screens.

Keep going, Tamzin – you’re doing a great job.

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
