Since we heard that Kat Moon would soon be arriving back in Albert Square, we’ve been wondering if husband Alfie would join her.
And now Shane Richie, who plays Alfie, has confirmed he’ll definitely be back.
If the show bosses agree, that is!
Viewers last saw Kat and Alfie in Enders spin-off show, Redwater when Alfie was in a bad way.
He was under the surgeon’s knife, having an op to remove a brain tumour, when he flatlined on the operating table.
So it would have been easy enough for bosses to write the cheeky chap out of EastEnders when they decided to reunite the Slater family.

But now Shane Richie has said he’s ready to return to the show.
“My wife wants me to get back to work,” he told The Sun. “She’s desperate for me to do EastEnders so I will.
“I’ve had two years off and I think that was enough for me. I’m ready to go back if they’ll have me. It’s the best gig on TV.”
And wife Christie agreed.
“I’m going to make sure he does,” she said.

Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Moon, is back filming, with her alter-ego on screen soon.
So far, though, the show’s bosses are keeping schtum about whether they have any plans to bring Alfie back too.
