And even Jack is disgusted

The news that Max has been plotting to bring down Walford since last Christmas is now out… and with the realisation they’ve been played sinking in, residents are out for revenge.

Max’s nearest and dearest have all been at the centre of his betrayal. And the next few weeks will see their shock turn to anger as they vow to teach the double-crossing businessman a lesson.

But while Mick, Linda and Ian have it out with words, Kush sees red for what Max did to his mum, Carmel, and lets his fists do the talking.

Jack tries to remove his brother from the pub as everyone’s anger starts to boil, not realising at this point he has also been victim to Max’s scheming.

But before the pair can exit The Vic, Kush blocks their way and punches Max in the face and sends him crashing into tables.

Poor Carmel was left humiliated when she thought Max was going to propose, only for Max to kiss Fi Browning in front of a packed Vic and reveal that the engagement ring is actually meant for her.

With the news that James Willmott-Brown is taking over Walford now common knowledge, it doesn’t take long for everyone to work out Max has been working alongside the dodgy family, and Max is soon a wanted man by the locals.

But Max’s neighbours finding out what he’s been up to is nothing in comparison to what happens when his brother, Jack, discovers he was behind Matthew being taken away.

Jack was one of the first victims of Max’s game plan when he first returned to Walford. Teaming up with Matthew’s dad Charlie Cotton, Max engineered it so that the little boy went to live with him instead of Jack.

Jack’s world fell apart losing Matthew so soon after wife Ronnie’s death, and the news that his brother was responsible for what happened is set to blow the family apart.

Until now Jack and Max have been thick as thieves, with Jack even standing by his sibling when the rest of Albert Square turn against him this week.

He even engineers it for Max’s son, Oscar, to come and visit him for his birthday – thinking that the visit might put a smile back on his brother’s face.

The plan fails though when Denise Fox puts a spanner in the works, but it is clear that Jack’s heart is in the right place and he’d do anything for his brother.

Little does he know, that’s all about too change.

Having always had his brother as his closest ally, Max’s life is about to be changed beyond recognition when Jack makes a staggering discovery next week.

As the scales fall from Jack’s eyes, how will Max cope with losing the one last person in Walford who actually had his back?
