Carters flee Walford as Aidan Maguire threats escalate

Is this the last we'll see of them?

With the situation with Aidan Maguire escalating out of control this week, the Carters the painful decision to flee Walford – leaving their beloved Queen Vic behind.

In case you’re not up to date with the Maguire/Carter saga, Aidan remains convinced that Mick was the one who took the money from the bungled heist back on New Year’s Day.

Of course, viewers know the money was stolen by Ben Mitchell and then again by Sharon Mitchell, before eventually being handed back to Ciara Maguire – the rightful owner.

But since Mick and his clan seemingly had a miraculous windfall which allowed them to buy back the freehold of the pub – the Carters are Aidan’s number one suspects.

This week, Mick returns to the pub to find it doused with petrol – along with a chilling message from Aidan; he wants the money back by Thursday – or else.

A panicked Mick turns to Phil Mitchell for help, but Phil advises him to get his family out of Walford – for good.

The Carters agree that fleeing the Square is the best thing so Shirley and Tina leave early with baby Ollie.

Linda and Mick say a tearful goodbye to their beloved pub but when they get to the tube station, Mick lies and tells Linda he’s forgotten his wallet.

He then tells her he’ll meet her later, before heading back to the pub for a confrontation with the Irish gangster.

Right at the last minute, it seems that there could be a glimmer of hope for the Carters when a face from their past comes back to help them… but is it too little too late?

With Aidan set to depart Albert Square in the not too distant future, could this be the final showdown between him and Mick?
