EastEnders SPOILER: Mick Carter to have violent showdown with Max Branning

Max hits the bottle and lashes out

It’s set to be an emotional week in Albert Square as Abi Branning is finally laid to rest – almost two months after her fatal fall from the roof of the Queen Vic.

And it’s going to be even more emotional for Abi’s grieving dad, Max, who discovers the rest of the family don’t want him at the funeral.

They hold Max responsible for Abi’s death as she – and Lauren – had followed their dad onto the roof to stop him jumping off.

In tomorrow’s episode, Max is devastated when he hears from Lauren that the ceremony has already gone ahead without him.

He then hits the bottle and – on Tuesday – visits Jay Brown pleading with him to tell him where Abi is buried.

But Jay isn’t giving anything away so Max attempts to drive off to find his daughter on his own.

New pictures from EastEnders show Mick Carter stepping in to stop drunken Max getting into his car.

He then flings the grief stricken dad’s car keys out of his reach, before giving him some home truths about why he wasn’t welcome at his own daughter’s funeral.

Mick’s harsh words finally make Max see some sense and he heads off to smooth things over with Lauren.

But Max is about to get another shock when he discovers that the funeral hasn’t actually happened yet, his ex-wife Tanya doesn’t want him there.
