As it becomes clear that Max isn’t letting his revenge plot go, Lauren becomes increasingly concerned about Ian’s safety.

Tonight’s episode sees Max face a huge backlash from the rest of the Square as his double-dealing and general shady behaviour is uncovered.

But next week will see him hit rock bottom as he faces another setback.

Still hell-bent on revenge against those who wronged him, Max decides to take back control and will try to lure Keanu Taylor into his plotting after finding out he’s working with Phil Mitchell (who’s also on Max’s hit-list.)

But Max soon turns his attentions back to Ian – determined to make him pay for his part in having Max sent to prison for Lucy’s murder.

Lauren is worried about what Max has in store next and warns Ian to watch his back.

Laurens’ words leave Ian shaken and he shares his fears with Phil.

Are they right to be worried? And what does Max have up his sleeve now?

EastEnders is gearing up for its Christmas special, which we know will focus heavily on the Branning clan – particularly on Max.

Big boss, John Yorke, spoke to Radio Times recently and confirmed Chrimbo will be all about Max.

He said: “The really big story on Christmas Day, and one of the biggest stories we have ever told on EastEnders, will revolve around Max and how his past actions all come back to haunt him in the most powerful and appalling way.”

Sounds pretty exciting, right?

Friday’s episode saw Max reveal his part in Grafton Hill’s takeover of The Queen Vic, by very publicly snogging Fi Browning in front of a packed out pub.

His ‘girlfriend’ Carmel Kazemi watched on in horror as she realised she’d been played by Max.
