Next week's shocking stabbing in EastEnders will have repercussions for all the residents of Walford - not least Kat Slater.
In upsetting scenes to air on Monday (21 May), viewers will witness the aftermath of young Shakil Kazemi being murdered.
And it leaves Shakil's neighbours reeling from the tragedy.
Upcoming episodes of the BBC1 soap will see Shakil tragically lose his life following a knife attack. Fans of the long-running soap will see the teenager tragically pass away in hospital after being stabbed by a gang.
And, as the news breaks, Kat will be left reflecting on her own absent loved ones.
Ever since Kat returned to Albert Square, she has been separated from her family - seven-year-old Tommy and three-year-old twins Bert and Ernie.
In fact, their whereabouts, as well as that of her estranged husband Alfie, has been shrouded in mystery.
Viewers know that Kat has been pretending to be in touch with her children... Recent scenes even saw Kat LIE to her family about meeting up with her kids when, in reality, she was sitting by herself outside a takeaway shop.
Hints suggest that the leopard-printed-motormouth has been hiding a big secret from her time in Spain...

But Shakil's death looks set to be the catalyst to Kat revealing the truth about her family's absence.
Will Kat finally decide to accept a call from Alfie, after weeks of avoiding his calls?
Show bosses are hoping the topical storyline will raise awareness of knife crime.
The horrific storyline was written to mark the 10th anniversary of Ben Kinsella's death, the brother of former star Brooke, who has been working with bosses on the storyline.
