EastEnders SPOILER: Jack unmasks the E20 thief

But has he done enough to stop Mel leaving Walford?

Ever since £15,000 went missing from the E20 safe, Jack Branning has been a man on a mission trying to track it down.

But while you might think it is the old copper in him wanting to solve the mystery… it’s more likely that he’s actually doing it for slightly more personal reasons.

When Mel gets fed up with everyone pointing the finger of blame at her for stealing the money, she decides enough is enough and starts to pack her bags to leave Walford.

But of course love-sick Jack doesn’t want her to leave, and makes it his own personal mission to find out who did take the money in an attempt to get Mel to stay.

Mel gets more than she bargained for when she talks to her son’s ex, only to find out the real reason the teens broken up.

Hunter eventually tells his mum the truth – but while he might have finally revealed all, he’s still adamant that he isn’t the one who stole the cash.

Annoyed that she is still getting blamed for the money going missing from the club, Mel decides to resort to some good old fashioned blackmail to get herself off the hook.

She tells Phil that if he doesn’t back off, she is going to tell Sharon all about their illicit kiss.

Luckily for Mel, it works like a charm and Phil tells her he will take the money out of her wages in instalments over the next two years, instead of demanding the lump sum up front.

Mel might have bought herself a bit of time, but Jack isn’t giving up that easily and is still doing his best Sherlock impression, trying to find the money in a bid to make Mel stay in Walford.

Knowing that Mo is definitely hiding something, the ex-policeman corners her.

But when he catches her looking suspicious as she gets a bag out of the bin, he thinks he’s caught their robber red-handed.

However, Mo is a woman in the know and she tells Jack who has really got the money.

But what will Jack do now that he has the information he needs, and will it be enough to stop Mel leaving?
