Fans love to hate him!

| Updated:

It was the moment EastEnders fans had been waiting for… When “creepy” Stuart Highway got what was coming to him.

The last we saw of Mick’s so-called best mate was of his lifeless body on the floor of The Arches.

And a scared Tina Carter had delivered the brutal blow.

On Tuesday (24 July), Stuart was left for dead after goading Tina so much that she lashed out at him.

Ever since Tina returned to Walford after visiting her daughter Zsa Zsa, the pair have been in conflict – with poor Tina remembering a vile prank Stuart pulled on her when they were younger.

During a game of ‘torture’, she was stripped naked, locked in the boot of a car and left alone in the dark – wondering if she would get out alive.

Ever since she remembered the incident, Stuart has been tormenting her and manipulating her into forgetting the facts.

So it’s not surprisingly really that she violently attacked her tormentor with a wrench in The Arches.

As well as trying to frame her for keying his car (which, of course, he did himself), he forced Tina to re-live her ordeal as he sung a mocking song about the experience and branded her a “messed up little girl”.

Furious and scared, Tina warned: “You want to back off. I ain’t the scared little girl you want me to be.”

After she whacked him, fans saw the much bigger man fall to the ground unconscious, with blood dripping from his head.

But is he actually dead? Or is he like a horrible, oversized cat with nine lives?

Tonight (Thursday 26 July), Tina is so panicked over her actions that she flees from the scene rather than helping Stuart.

She runs to Mick and Linda, blurting out the truth about her violent outburst.

As they all cautiously approach The Arches to check whether Stuart is okay, they discover that his body has gone.

And it’s not long before the police arrive at the Queen Vic to arrest Tina, dragging her away in front of the punters.

It’s not all bad news, though, as this proves to be the push Mick needs to find out the real truth about his dangerous friend.

So where is Stuart hiding? And what’s his next move?
