EastEnders Spoiler: Heartache for Mel Owen as she’s finally reunited with son Hunter

Drama guaranteed

| Updated:

Melanie Owen returned to Walford after 15 years away earlier this month, but so far we’ve heard very little about Hunter – the son she was pregnant with when she fled the Square all those years ago.

Hunter is Steve Owen’s son and Enders fans know Steve was killed when his car blew up during a high speed chase with Phil Mitchell.

So far, all we know about Hunter is that Mel needs to find the missing heist money to see him again.

Oh, and that casting did a STELLAR job with Charlie Winter who looks SO MUCH like Steve Owen. (Okay, it might be the hair, but we still love it.)

Next week Mel is finally reunited with her son and has high hopes (soap mistake no.1) of the pair of them making a fresh start together.

But then Hunter makes a shocking discovery about his dad which changes everything.

We have to keep tight-lipped on what goes down but Hunter learns some uncomfortable truths about Steve – so what will they mean for his relationship with his mum?

The revelations lead Hunter to the grave of his gran – Steve’s mum, Barbara – where Mel eventually finds him.

Longterm fans will know that Barbara was abusive towards Steve.

Could this be anything to do with Hunter’s big discovery about his father?

That’s not all – judging by these pictures of Hunter and Louise, it looks like a new romance could soon be blossoming on the Square.

Louise is a single agent since splitting with Travis last year.

But with Lou’s dad being responsible for the death of Hunter’s dad, will the two of them be able to be a couple?

We can’t reveal anything, but it’s certain that Hunter’s arrival is going to ruffle more than a few feathers in Walford.

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One
