Poor Carmel has fallen hook, line and SINKER for Max since he confessed to her about his self-harm and dark time in prison.

His secret lover, Fi Browning, starts to pile the pressure on him next week, telling him to get more info out of oblivious Carmel for their twisted take-over plan.
Carmel thinks that Max feels the same way about her – totally unaware that she’s just a pawn in his (still totally mysterious) revenge plot.
Max gets frustrated when Carmel wants to keep their romance secret and the legendary lothario tries to persuade her to tell Denise about their relationship.
Later, after finding out a juicy nugget about the council and reporting back to Fi, Max kisses Carmel in public, and thus outing them to the whole of Albert Square.
Carmel, bless her, is on Cloud 9 about how well things are going between them and even invites him to a family meal. Because they always go well in Walford.
But she’s left shook when Max starts acting cold towards her – and she ends up calling the whole dinner off.

As well as pulling Carmel’s strings, Max is heavily embroiled in Steven Beale’s brain tumour lie.
This week we saw him confront his soon-to-be son-in-law at a fake appointment with a consultant. But instead of telling Lauren the truth, he backed up Steven’s lies – saying he only has three months to live.

Carmel was recently left reeling after receiving a divorce petition from her husband, dad to Kush and Shakil.
