EastEnders SNUBBED by major soap awards

It's not the BBC show's year

The shortlist for this year’s 2017 Inside Soap Awards has been released and it’s all about Emmerdale and Coronation Street, while EastEnders has been overlooked in several categories.

Although the BBC One soap is still up for a few awards, it failed to get any nominations in the Best Shock Twist, Best Partnership and Best Young Actor categories.

It will no doubt come as a blow to EastEnders who have had several shock twists up their sleeves this year – including the return of super-villain James Willmott-Brown.

Inside Soap editor, Steven Murphy, said: “It’s been a big year in soapland, full of gripping plots, shout-at-your-telly twists and accomplished performances.

“The competition is tougher than ever, but if anyone can make the right decision, it’s the readers of Inside Soap – Britain’s original and best TV soap magazine.

“Our Awards are always a fantastic way to celebrate another great year in soap – it’s a night where everyone leaves feeling like a winner.”
