And it’s good news for soap fans, as Maddy isn’t ruling out a comeback for her Albert Square character.

The actress, who played Mick and Linda’s daughter from 2014 to 2016, told Digital Spy that Walford will always have a special place in her heart.

Asked if she’d ever return, she said: “Totally. I have always said that I’d never say no.”

She added: “I loved everyone I worked with and Danny [Dyer] and Kellie [Bright] are still there. I would definitely have an open mind about it.

“I am still very much in touch with the Carter family and I was hanging out with Himesh [Patel, who played her boyfriend Tamwar] last week as he was in Cardiff. I am very much still in touch with the cast.”

Nancy left the soap with her on-screen boyfriend Tamwar Masood, when the pair decided to go travelling together.

This Saturday, Maddy joins medical drama Casualty as new paramedic Ruby Spark – and she makes quite an entrance!

Her first day gets off to an awful start when she attempts to treat a drug user, but ends up getting punched.

And it’s the first of many hard lessons for Ruby.

When she gets treatment for her bloodied nose from junior doctor Eddie McAllister, Alicia is on high alert…

After he raped his colleague in horrifying scenes earlier this year, Alicia is concerned that he’s eyeing up his next victim…

However, after such a rubbish first day, Ruby wonders whether she’s even cut out for life as a paramedic after all!
