EastEnders fans left fuming about Carmel Kazemi’s fridge fail

The devil is in the detail!

Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans were baffled by last night’s episode, when Carmel opened up to Kush about why she’d called social services about Stacey Fowler.

But the hard-hitting storyline took a back seat to a far more compelling mystery – why does Carmel have a fridge in her living room?

The put-upon grandmother had been battling with whether to report the mother of her grandson to social services, after finding bruises on his arms.

But fans were more interested to know why she’d decided to keep a large kitchen appliance in her dining room instead, taking to Twitter to voice their concerns.

It’s not the first time the long-running soap has left fans puzzled by some of its design choices.

Just last week viewers were scratching their heads when Sharon received several calls in the middle of the night, rushing downstairs to answer each one – despite the phone being cordless, meaning she could have simply kept it by her side.

It isn’t only Albert Square residents that are prone to bizarre behaviour. Emmerdale’s Emma Barton recently seemed to master the art of teleportation.

She was able to travel from a motorway service station to the hospital, changing into a nurse’s uniform, in a matter of seconds – leaving fans with their jaws on the floor.

And Coronation Street’s Andy Carver was blasted by fans during his kidnapping by evil Pat Phelan recently.

Andy was tied up in Phelan’s cellar, when Eileen called round unexpectedly – and for reasons known only to the show’s writers, didn’t call out for help, even though salvation was just a few feet away.

But for now it’s ‘Enders who are the champions of odd show behaviour – and we’re excited to find out a bit more about Carmel’s house. Does she have a microwave in the toilet? A washing machine in her bedroom? Time will tell.
