Martin and Stacey Fowler’s relationship has been ruined, according to upset soap fans.
And some EastEnders viewers even want to see them get back together…
In last night’s episode (Wednesday 21 February), their estranged relationship took a turn for the worse when Martin contacted a solicitor about getting a divorce.
Egged on by ex, Sonia, Martin told her: “I emailed the solicitors first thing saying I want a divorce and to sort out custody of the kids.”
Sonia replied: “Good, maybe she’ll stop treating you like such a mug now.”
But, deep down, it didn’t look like Martin’s heart was in it…
Unaware of Martin’s actions, Stacey visited with an apology and a goodwill gesture – a timetable of care for the kids.
Martin is thrilled with the peace offering but, after Stacey leaves, he realises Stacey “will get the right hump” if she then receives the letter from the solicitor… So he phones the solicitor asking for everything to be cancelled. Only it’s too late!
Rushing around to Stacey’s house with a flurry of excuses, Martin attempts to hack into Stacey’s email while she’s in another room. But, when she catches him at it, he confesses to everything and says he’s sorry.

While Stacey seems to accept his apology, viewers then saw her make a mysterious phone call. Leading some to assume she’s after revenge.
She says into the phone: “What do you reckon? Yeah, that’s what I thought, alright, I’m going to get a solicitor right now.”
Fans were quick to comment on the revelation, with one lamenting: “Why are they destroying every good couple? Martin and Stacey, Billy and Honey and now Kim and Vincent. But keeping Mick and Linda, the most irritating, unrealistic couple together?”

Many more seemed keen to see Stacey and Martin reunited, instead of further apart.

In an EastEnders poll, almost half of viewers thought that Stacey and Martin would not get back together.
