EastEnders fans can’t cope with Ted Murray’s reaction to wife Joyce’s death

It was so sad

EastEnders fans were beside themselves during tonight’s episode as Ted Murray struggled to accept the death of his wife, Joyce.

Viewers saw a worried Bernadette Taylor discover Joyce’s body, still in bed, as she paid Ted a visit, concerned for his health after noticing he’d been acting strangely all day.

She instructed Tiffany Butcher to call an ambulance and Ted told her: “When I woke up this morning I reached out to touch her cheek and it was cold, like ice.

“So I pulled over the duvet and came out here to make a cup of tea to warm her up. I was too late wasn’t I?”

Throughout the day Ted had been determined to complete a list he found in Joyce’s diary and worked his way around the Square doing chores for her.

He brought them hot cross buns from the cafe, after the minute mart had sold out.

Then he headed off to pick up his washing from the launderette only for Karen to tell him Joyce had already paid.

He then went to get fish for their Good Friday supper, which was also paid for.

His last errand was to find a palm cross, which Bernie and Tiffany helped him make after paying a visit to Dot’s.

Ted finally realised how much Joyce did for him and how much he took her for granted -but as he said – too late.

Enders’ fans couldn’t cope with emotion and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
