EastEnders got a bit uncomfortable last night as Ian Beale decided he was going to woo his ex-wife Melanie Owen.
Ian invited Mel to the Vic so he could mansplain running a business to her, and win her over with his tales of his recent trip to New Zealand (yawn!).
Mel regarded the whole evening with a kind of baffled amusement, while Ian took it all very seriously – especially when Masood presented him with a plate of chips instead of curry and the pair ended up in a slanging match.
But while the Enders fans enjoyed the rivalry between Mas and Ian, what they were talking about was how Ian has seemingly completely forgotten his ex-wife, Jane.
Jane left Ian because she was scared for her life as Max went on his rampage around the Square. He was determined to make everyone pay for him taking the blame for Lucy’s murder and Jane was one of his targets.
But Weyland & Co are a thing of the past, Max is reformed after daughter Abi’s death, and the coast is clear for Jane to return.
Or so you’d think.
Ian, though, seems to have completely forgotten about his wife. Since he cancelled her call when Mel first arrived in the Square, he’s not spared her a thought.
And the fans are wondering what on earth’s going on!

“Ian is still married to Jane,” one viewer pointed out.
“Why has Jane been erased?” asked another. While another said: “Poor old Jane, Ian ain’t giving her a second thought.”

And some fans called for Jane to return to give Ian a proper reminder that they’re still married.
“Just get Jane back,” wailed one frustrated viewer. While another said: “Here’s an idea. Give Jane a call back.”
