EastEnders fans are OUTRAGED about the cost of a fish supper in Walford

HOW much?!

EastEnders fans were left stunned during last night’s episode when they clocked how much it would cost to get three portions of chips and two pieces of fish at Beale’s Plaice.

Bernadette Taylor popped into the chippy to grab lunch – and was charged almost £20 for the food – which many viewers thought was extortionate.

Even after she managed to get a freebie out of Masood Ahmed who’s currently working there, she only left with a small bag.

Fans took to Twitter to express their shock.

“£17 for 3 portions of chips and 2 fish,” wrote one fan, followed by a shocked face emoji.

Another added: “£17 for 2 fish suppers in Ian beales chippy in eastenders !!! That is a joke.”

A third tweeted: “Masood you kidding £17 for two fish and chips,” while a fourth wrote: “17 quid blimey that must be some quality chips and haddock.”

But other fans were quick to point out that these prices are pretty much accurate, especially for London.

“That’s the price round here fish is like 5.50 small and a portion of chips 1.75 small chips,” replied a viewer, while another agreed, adding: “My local fish and chips charges £22 for the same items in the order. The price EastEnders is quite chip.”

Fans went into meltdown back in October about the price of coffee and a bacon butty in the East End being too high.

Kathy’s cafe charged £6 for the deal and many thought this was a rip-off.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7pm on BBC One
