A familiar face returned to Albert Square last night, but nobody seemed happy to see him.
Woody (Lee Ryan) came back to Walford and neither residents NOR viewers greeted him with open arms.
In scenes shown on Tuesday (10 April), the former Old Vic barman dared to show his face back in the Square after jilting fiancée Whitney Carter to take a job as a bar manager in Malaga.
Although Woody seemed full of remorse for what he’d done, Whitney seemed reluctant to see him – quite rightly!

Woody seemed desperate to win Whitney back and declared his love for her, saying: “I came back because I’m still in love with you.”
But do we believe him?
Only time will tell whether Whitney will fall for his charms again, however EastEnders fans made their feelings about his return QUITE clear.
One blasted: “Why bring back Wooden Woody? There’s no need at all.”

A second simply said: “Ugh go away Woody!!”
While another spoke for many when they asked: “what does woody wants now that he s back?!”

Wow, not a popular boy then… Perhaps his fate was sealed when he asked Whitney for her engagement ring back, so he could put down a deposit on a flat.
Not the most romantic way to win back a woman, Woody!
Woody haters will soon get their way, though, as his re-appearance is the beginning of his eventual exit storyline later this year.
Soap lovers will also know that Whitney’s other love-interest is on his way back to the Square, too. It was recently announced that Halfway will be returning to EastEnders in the summer.
And we have a suspicion he might get a better welcome than Woody did!
