| Updated:

EastEnders fans were disgusted last night after a scene in which Sonia Fowler kissed her ex-husband Martin on the lips.

During the episode aired on Thursday (10 May), a nostalgic Sonia planted a kiss on her husband while he lay asleep.

And viewers were quick to point out that the contact was NOT consensual.

As Martin lay beside her oblivious, Sonia reminisced about their happier moments when they were married and wondered whether they should have stayed together.

Stroking his forehead, she told him she loved him once and leant in for a kiss as the credits rolled.

Another blasted: “Sonia definitely just sexually assaulted a drunk Martin by kissing him when he was out cold. If you reversed their places in that scenario, there would rightly be an outcry!”

A third added: “That’s it Sonia sexually assaulting him while he’s asleep #eastenders.”

Later in the week, Stacey also shares a kiss with the Walford fruit and veg seller. Only this time, he’s in on it.

With both women vying for his affections, Martin finds himself in a tricky situation.

Although most viewers think his heart lies with estranged wife Stacey.
