Former EastEnders star Annette Badland, better known as Aunt Babe, has revealed that she’s convinced her character is the reason the Carters have been having so much bad luck recently.

The actress, who left the soap in February last year has joked that there night be more bad luck heading for her family thanks to a ‘curse’ that Aunt Babe put on them after being thrown out of the pub.

Annette told OK! Online that she thought her character could be meddling in the family’s fortune, despite the fact she hasnt been seen on screen for over a year… “Yes, yes. She’s working her magic!”.

As Aunt Babe was unceremoniously thrown out of the doors of the Vic and into the pouring rain after it was discovered she had been illegally selling alcohol before licensed hours, she told the family that she was going to put a curse on them…

“I curse you. I curse the lot of you. I hope you lose everything and your precious pub,” she said on screen.

Little did she know how close she would get to her wishes coming true.

And now Annette has joked that Babe’s curse could be real…  “Aunt Babe’s curse seems to have worked though doesn’t it?

So if Aunt Babe has been steering the Carters ship from behind the scenes, does this mean we could see her back on screen sometime soon?

“Maybe its time for her to return,” hinted Annette.
