Eamonn Holmes sends warning to This Morning fans

Of course, it was all a joke... we think!

Eamonn Holmes has jokingly warned fans who will be attending This Morning Live on Saturday that they won’t see him after 5pm.

Why, you ask? Because he will be busy watching the FA Cup final!

During Thursday’s This Morning, Ruth Langsford revealed she and Eamonn will be at This Morning Live all day on Saturday, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will be screened live.

As Ruth spoke about her excitement for Saturday, Eamonn revealed: “I’ve been lying awake just thinking about the big day, I just can’t get to sleep… United v Chelsea,” referring to the big game.

Ruth replied: “Well, you can’t do either of those because you’re at This Morning Live. We’re at This Morning Live in Birmingham. We are going to have the wedding on the big screen.”

But Eamonn cut in: “Look, I’m just telling anyone at This Morning Live, after 5 o’clock, forget it, you’re not going to see me.

“Just letting you know, that’s it.”

Ruth added: “But we will be showing the royal wedding, so you won’t miss it.”

Revealing what fans can look forward to, Ruth said: “We’re going to have Gok [Wan] commentating on [Meghan’s] dress. I can’t wait!”

Royal wedding preparations are well under way but not everything has been going so smoothly this week.

In the last couple of days, it’s been uncertain whether Meghan’s father Thomas Markle will be attending the wedding and walking his daughter down the aisle because of his health.

Thomas, 73, said he had undergone a heart procedure on May 16 after recently suffering a heart attack.

On Thursday (May 17), Meghan released a statement via Kensington Palace confirming that her father will not be attending the wedding.

She said: “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.

“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
