Dermot O’Leary announces double elimination twist on The X Factor

Can that many acts REALLY be leaving?

| Updated:

With the new changes on The X Factor this year, it seems that ITV bosses have even more shocks up their sleeves.

In fact Dermot O’Leary announced a HUGE twist for next week’s live shows on last night’s episode.

At the end of Sunday’s X Factor live show, host Dermot not only revealed that Paloma Faith would be performing on the show, but that former X Factor and One Direction star Harry Styles would also be appearing.

But it was the words ‘DOUBLE ELIMINATION’ that definitely grabbed our attention.

In the past few live shows it has seen two different groups of contestants pitted against each other with one person leaving on each night.

But now it seems this weekend’s live shows will be losing even MORE acts.

The 44-year-old presenter revealed how the show will see a double elimination on each night, which means four contestants will be getting the chop.

Dermot explained: “Join us next week when hearts will be pounding as it’s a double elimination on both nights.”

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

He also went on to reveal the new theme, “We also celebrate a true legend as next week’s theme is George Michael.”

Wow, they give with one hand and take with the other!

This weekend saw The Boys’ contestant Leon Mallett go home on Saturday night, and outspoken Overs’ star Tracy Leanne Jefford leave on Sunday’s show.

But who will need to pull the performance of a lifetime out of the bag to make sure they stay in the competition this weekend coming?

One thing is for sure, nobody is safe!
