Dancing On Ice star Donna Air admits she’s ‘trying to fatten herself up’

Who knew ice skating was such a good workout

Donna Air has revealed that all the skating training that’s she’s been doing has led her to losing more weight than she would like – so much so that she’s now struggling to put it back on.

The former Byker Grove star is going from strength-to-strength each week on the skating show, but has revealed that all the training on the rink is starting to have an adverse effect on her health…

She told The Mirror during a recent interview: “I have always been a bit of a skinny minnie, but I eat like a bit of a horse.”

The actress is determined to keep on top form for the competition, and her determination hasn’t gone unnoticed by the judging pannel.

Donna’s impressed judges so far with her skating abilities – clearly using her athletic 5ft 8in physique to her advantage.

But the actress has revealed that she is desperate to keep fit and healthy while she takes part in the ITV Sunday night show, telling the newspaper: “I am trying to fatten myself up. I don’t want to get too thin.”

Also while chatting to the publication, Donna revealed that she’s been stunned by the amount of support she has been getting from fans of the show…

“We have a lot of love which I’m really surprised about.

“Everything is bonus time for me. We are thrilled to still be doing it. I never for one moment imagined I’d be able to stand up.”

Donna, who is partnered with professional skater Mark Hanretty, has remained professional throughout the show so far – even skating through the pain of a cracked rib. An injury that she got during training.

In fact, Mark thinks Donna is such a natural on the ice that he’s revealed that had the actress had started skating years ago, she could have been a professional too.
