Dancing On Ice reveals second celebrity – but again confuses fans

This is really not very helpful at all!

Another day, another totally cryptic clue from Dancing On Ice about the second celebrity confirmed to take part in the revamped show.

Rather than just announcing the line-up via a press release as would be very helpful, bosses over at ITV have decided it’s far more fun to play with us.

They seem to be confirming each star skater by posting a totally unhelpful photo on social media focusing on a body part.

Yesterday we had a toned male torso, today it’s a woman’s hand and hip.

Useful.

The latest celebrity contestant reveal – if we can call it that – came on Tuesday night, with an image showing a woman with her hand on her hip clutching a pair of skates.

Naturally, sleuthing fans have been embracing their inner Sherlock Holmes in a bid to guess the second celebrity skater’s identity.

Some suggested it could be X Factor stalwart Sinitta – until others pointed out she already did the show, appearing in the fifth series where she was eliminated first. Ouch.

But, hey, given original hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are returning, maybe a few old celeb contestants will also come back?

Another popular suggestion was EastEnders actress Diane Parish, best known as Walford’s Denise Fox.

Others guessed the likes of singers Heather Small and Beverley Knight, former Saturdays star Rochelle Humes or cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent.

Someone else suggested TV presenter Angellica Bell, whose husband, Michael Underwood, has already done the show.

The cryptic photo came the day after Dancing On Ice revealed its first celebrity contestant: a, er, very toned man.

As with the female’s picture, it’s pretty hard to tell who it is from just a buff torso, but fans threw out suggestions including McFly’s Harry Judd, rugby star Thom Evans, swimmer Mark Foster and Judge Rinder.

Another fan put on his best Inspector Morse to guess rugby pro Max Evans, reasoning: “100% Max Evans due to the tiny scar/mark on his hip! It’s other pics, Not that I’ve been playing Sherlock Holmes or anything.”

Someone else cheekily joked: “Put your shirt back on, Phillip Schofield!”

It could also possibly be former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity star Jake Quickenden.

According to The Sun, he’s been snapped up by bosses to provide some “eye candy” for viewers.

A source said: “He hasn’t got any skating experience but is already super-confident. He’s fearless and they feel they’ll be able to push him week after week.”

We shall have to wait and see, however, as DOI bosses are keeping tight-lipped for now.

What HAS been confirmed, however, is the all-new judging panel. Well, we say all-new, it’s really three familiar faces and one newbie!

Skating sensations Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean return to the show as judges, alongside Jason Gardiner, while Diversity frontman Ashley Banjo will join them.

The show returns to ITV in 2018.
