The X Factor star has been playing Aidan Connor on the soap for three years, but his character has been written out of the show.

His final scenes are set to air next month – with Shayne hinting Aidan will have a dark ending.

But although Shayne hasn’t quite left screens yet, he’s had what sounds like an epic leaving do.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said his plan was to party as long as he could.

“I had a great party,” he said. “My mission was to be carried out… and that happened. It was great. Everyone enjoyed themselves.”

He partied with his co-stars, as well has his fiancée Sophie, and his family.

He claims it was the biggest turn out a Corrie leaving do has had, saying it was a “massive, humbling moment for me”.

Shayne is keen to stay in TV after his stint on Corrie, rather than returning to music, claiming he’s keen for dark, dramatic roles.

He said: “I’d love to do something quite gritty – to do with the Army or gangs.”

There’s also speculation he’ll make a play for Hollywood – back in January The Sun reported he had his eyes on the big screen.

Their source said: “Shayne will audition for film roles in LA which is something that always been an ambition of his.

“He’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Harry who’s already making his mark in the film business.”
