Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd ‘gets pay rise to become highest-paid young actor’ on the Street

Actor gets contract extension to December 2018 and will reportedly earn £220k - more than any other younger generation star

Corrie star Jack P Shepherd has reportedly signed a new deal worth a whopping £220k to keep him on the soap for another year.

It means that the 29-year-old, who plays David Platt, has become the highest-paid younger generation actor on the ITV show.

Jack has signed up to stay in Wetherfield until Christmas 2018, and has been promised some sensational storylines by Corrie bosses.

And thanks to his pay rise, he is now believed to earn £70k more than co-stars Simon Gregson and Kym Marsh, who play Steve McDonald and Michelle Connor and each earn £150k.

And he also earns more than the £170k a year veteran Michael le Vell (Kevin Webster) takes home.

The pay rise and contract extension is a huge vote of confidence for Jack.

As troubled David Platt, he’s currently in a relationship with Shona Ramsey – the mother of his wife Kylie’s killer Clayton – and things are pretty complicated.

But in real life, Jack is happily with his fiancée Lauren Shippey and their children Nyla and Reuben.

The young dad was in high spirits as he arrived at work earlier this week in a brand new Maserati car worth £50k.

Jack, who has been on the Street since 2000, was filming on location with actress Nicola Thorp, who plays evil Pat Phelan’s daughter Nicola Rubenstein.

He drove up in the stylish motor – an M plate Ghibli marque.

And he was also showing off a new look – much more rugged and trendy than usual.

His hair was shaved at the sides and slightly curly and highlighted on top, he was sporting a beard, and wearing a battered black leather jacket and skinny jeans.

Maybe he’s been splashing some of that cash on a makeover….
