Corrie SPOILER: Gemma plans HUGE Rovers changes

The kebab queen is keen to make her mark on the pub

Gemma Winter is buzzing about being the new landlady of the Rovers Return next week and is making some big plans for the Weatherfield boozer.

This week the kebab shop worker will get the shock of her life when her old flame Henry Newton rocks up on the cobbles and announces he’s bought the pub for her.

The Rovers has been up for sale since current owners Peter Barlow and Toyah Battersby split when Peter discovered his partner had been lying to him about baby Susie.

Henry will leave Gemma stunned when he interrupts a lunch she’s having with Chesney to declare his love for her and to tell her about the gift he’s bought her to prove his love.

Gemma doesn’t believe him at first and tells him to get lost, but his grand gesture ends up sweeping her off her feet.

But is Henry to be trusted? Ches and Cathy certainly don’t think so and warn Gemma that Henry’s still a wrong’un, but she obviously gets carried away as she starts making great plans for the pub.

Could this be the happy ending to Gemma’s Cinderella story after she was heart-broken by Newton & Ridley heir Henry earlier this year when it was revealed he was only dating her for a bet?

It’s not looking great to be honest with reports circulating that Johnny and Jenny Connor are set to take over the pub not Gemma and Henry.

According to The Sun, Johnny will buy The Rovers because of the emotional connection it holds to his late son, Aidan.

The pub was the last place Johnny saw his son alive before he went home to take his own life.

A Corrie insider reportedly told The Sun: “Coronation Street bosses are really trying to big up the Connors as the new family on the block, and want them to be as big as the Barlows.

“There are big plans for them in terms of storylines, and first up is taking over the pub.

“It was the last place he saw Aidan before he went home to kill himself, so when he hears it’s up for grabs he swoops in and takes control.”

It sounds like there could me heartache in store for Gemma if Johnny is set to become the new landlord.
