After Seb changed his testimony last week, standing up in court and telling everyone that Anna wasn’t responsible for his fall, it looked as though she was finally home and dry. However, nobody banked on some new evidence coming to light…

Anna’s fate was sealed after Eileen stumbled across CCTV footage of Gary and Tim roughing up Seb, which suggested they had coerced him into changing his statement. And Phelan’s missus wasted no time in handing over the damning evidence to police.

Meanwhile, things weren’t looking great in court. Roy hadn’t helped Anna’s case at all when he was forced to admit that she had assaulted Seb on the morning of his fall. Then Anna herself did some serious damage to her chances of freedom as she gave her own account of what had happened that day – which ended in her launching a verbal attack on Phelan, accusing him of being a “monster” who was obsessed with her from the moment he laid eyes on her!

Her angry outburst left Anna looking like a crazy woman – and things were about to get even worse as her solicitor brought the footage of Gary and Tim’s violent altercation with Seb to her attention.

It was the final nail in Anna’s coffin – and by the time Tim took to the witness stand, the prosecution was baying for blood. He had no choice but to admit that he and Gary had bullied Seb into changing his testimony – and all that Anna could do after that was pray that she would get off.

The jury reached a verdict swiftly, and Anna was shaking like a leaf as she returned to the dock to learn her fate. A stunned gasp rang out around the court as the foreman of the jury announced a guilty verdict – and as she was led away, all Anna could do was lash out at the man who’d put her there, yelling out “Pat Phelan is pure evil!” as she was dragged down to the cells.

It was a twist that no one saw coming, and gobsmacked Corrie fans took to Twitter as the verdict was announced…

Elsewhere in the episode, Gary was forced to miss out on his mum’s day in court after he discovered the truth about Bethany’s lap-dancing job! Rather than face Gary, though, Bethany told the club’s security that he was a punter who had been harrassing her – resulting in Gary getting a beating at the hands of the club’s aggressive doormen.

And viewers weren’t impressed with the teenager’s rough treatment of her mum’s ex…

The episode ended with Gary in hospital, and Anna left contemplating her fate in jail. So how long will she serve behind bars for a crime she didn’t even commit? Viewers can tune in and see Anna’s sentencing on Wednesday night.
