Corrie’s Billy Mayhew faces heartbreak in wheelchair-bound scenes

Looks like there's heartache ahead

It looks like Corrie vicar, Billy Mayhew, has got a tough time ahead of him if new pictures of actor Daniel Brocklebank filming some heartbreaking scenes are anything to go by.

Corrie viewers know that Billy has recently found out that a hit and run he was involved in was responsible for the death of Ken Barlow’s daughter, Susan.

Susan was Peter Barlow’s twin sister and Adam’s mum.

At the moment, Billy is consumed with guilt and wants to come clean to the Barlows, but his boyfriend, Todd Grimshaw, has so far convinced him not to say anything – for the sake of Summer Spellman, the little girl they plan to adopt.

But will Billy’s conscience finally get the better of him?

Daniel was spotted on location in Manchester earlier this week and was filming his scenes in a wheelchair.

It’s not known how Billy comes to be wheelchair-bound but theories are that he either tries to take his own life because the guilt is too much, or one of the Barlow clan comes after him for revenge.

It’s also not known if the character will be permanently in the chair.

But the wheelchair wasn’t the only problem the vicar had as the pics also show him saying what looks like an emotional goodbye to Summer.

We know that Billy will also lose Todd in the coming weeks as actor, Bruno Langley, has been axed by Coronation Street after being convicted of two sexual assaults.

Sue Cleaver, who plays Todd’s mum Eileen Grimshaw, was also on location as the characters met up with Summer in a park.

It’s speculated that Summer (Matilda Freeman) will leave Coronation Street with Todd on Christmas Eve, which ITV have confirmed as Bruno’s last appearance in the show.

It doesn’t look like Billy will be having a very merry Christmas this year, as his dark secret appears to cost him everything.

Reports suggest that Corrie writers were sent into a panic as they had to rewrite Christmas storylines after Bruno was let go from the ITV soap in October.

He pleaded guilty this week on two counts of sexual assault at a nightclub earlier this year.
