Corrie’s Kayla makes waves at Speed Daal and catches Rana and Zeedan

The newcomer is set to ruffle some feathers...

| Updated:

Corrie newcomer Kayla arrived on our screens in Friday’s double bill last week – and it wasn’t long before she was getting familiar with the locals.

As Speed Daal made its grand opening, their newest employee Kayla soon made friends with her new co-workers – establishing herself as a valued member of staff as she took to her new waitressing role at the restaurant like a duck to water.

But it seems the cobble’s newest arrival isn’t just partial to a bit of hard work – she also likes a gossip, too.

Not only was she keen to get to know her new friends, Zeedan, Imran and Alya, Kayla also seemed to be the sort of girl who keeps her ear very much to the grapevine.

She’d only been in her new role for five minutes when she caught boss Zeedan hugging Rana and leaning in for a kiss.

What Kayla didn’t realise is that the estranged pair were actually making up after Rana wrongly accused her husband of calling the police and getting her mum arrested for attempted kidnap.

It turned out that the actual culprit was Rana’s girlfriend, Kate, leading to the couple having a huge falling out.

Zeedan seized the moment after seeing that Rana was devastated and tried to comfort his wife.

The moment lead to a kiss between the pair – which Kayla unwittingly interrupted. But would it have lead to more if she hadn’t walked in at the wrong moment?

Speaking to RadioTimes.com Corrie boss Kate Oates has admitted that Kayla will be causing mischief for a Coronation Street couple – but not Rana and Zeedan… “She’ll be causing trouble for Bethany and Craig.”

With Kayla sticking around for the foreseeable future – could this mean there is a brand new love triangle on the cards for Corrie?

Actress Mollie Winnard might be new to Corrie, but the chances are viewers might recognise her from other TV shows.

She might only be 21-years-old, but Mollie has starred in shows like BBC1’s Love, Lies and Records.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
